Join us for a hands-on environmental service experience at the Bronx River! In this interactive scavenger hunt-style cleanup, students will work in teams to collect and identify different types of litter and natural materials along the river. Participants will earn points based on what they find, with fun prizes for top collectors. Through this activity, we will help reduce pollution in the Bronx River while learning about environmental care and the importance of protecting local ecosystems. Everyone who participates will receive a small goodie bag as a thank-you for contributing to this meaningful service effort.
NOTE: SIGNING UP FOR THIS ACTIVITY MEANS YOU ARE COMMITTING TO PERIOD 2 AND THE START OF COMMUNITY TIME.
Students will first collaboratively build physical prototypes of table organizers before using Tinkercad to translate their ideas into digital models. This hands-on program introduces the engineering design process and concludes with the Engineering Club providing 3D-printed versions of the students' finished designs.
NOTE: THIS SESSION WILL LEAVE AT THE START OF PERIOD 2 AND RETURN AT THE END OF COMMUNITY TIME.
We will be baking cookies at Scarsdale Middle School to be donated to Pleasantville Cottages! We will also be packaging the cookies and decorating the bags! Can’t wait to bake!
NOTE: SIGNING UP FOR THIS ACTIVITY MEANS YOU ARE COMMITTING TO PART OF COMMUNITY TIME, PERIOD 3, LUNCH, AND THE START OF PERIOD 4. YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN BAGGED LUNCH.
