Come pack backpacks for underprivileged kids in Westchester through an organization called El Centro Hispano. This is in order for them to have adequate supplies to have a better education because education is the way to get out of the cycle of poverty. We might also write uplifting messages to include in the bags!
Join Safe Bites for a quick introduction to food allergies and their link to food insecurity. Then, help make allergen-friendly snacks (primarily granola bars) to donate to local food pantries and community organizations (including Feeding Westchester). All ingredients and materials will be provided, and the finished snacks will be delivered to partner organizations after the event.

Join us for a fun session led by SHS Op Smile Club! Students will listen to a short informational presentation led by Craig Russel, the Operation Smile regional director. After, everyone will be able to help pack post-operation goodie bags for children born with cleft conditions for after their procedure. Bags will be filled with stickers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, toys, and more!

Care Without Borders gives Scarsdale High School students a hands-on way to make a real impact. Participants will create Welcome Kits for refugees resettling in the U.S., filling them with essential hygiene items, household basics, school supplies, and handwritten notes or drawings of encouragement. All kits made will be donated to The Bowery Mission, a refugee resettlement organization.
We will be assembling welcome bags for the incoming campers at Steve's Camp with supplies they will need to get them through the summer! Steve's Camp provides an experience in nature for children from NYC.
The Model UN Club will be hosting an interactive debate where they introduce you to a topic around the value of "non sibi" Last year's topic was "Volun-tourism: Big Help or No Thanks?". In this workshop, you will be introduced to the topic before being split into teams and trained in Model UN style debate to advocate for your position. The period should be fast-paced and fun!
A relaxing art session to decorate traditional fans for a Korean senior day care to equip the elders for the hot weather in a way they are comfortable with.
Simulate a court case with evidence and eyewitnesses to learn more about wrongful conviction and how "mistakes" get made in the criminal justice system.
During our activity, you will learn about how food insecurity affects our neighboring communities and pack grocery bags which will be donated to families across Westchester. There will also be snacks!
You will collaborate with your peers to redesign common sports, making them more inclusive for athletes with disabilities while remaining fun and competitive. Considering factors like rules, equipment, and team roles, you will get creative about adapting sports for inclusion. While mentally focusing on these creative adaptations, you will make bracelets with messages of inclusion to be given to Able athletes.
Join us for a interactive and educational choking rescue session! Practice on dummies with Jim Gross, a paramedic and SVAC board member. This session will introduce you to real-life, life-saving skills that could make the difference in an emergency.
During this session participants will help by coloring pamphlets with information about simple saving and investing. These pamphlets will be given out to members at the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester. After the pamphlets are made, students will take part in an investing simulation game.
We will be stuffing bags with snacks and notes of encouragements that we will write for children living at a residential treatment center, Pleasantville Cottage School.
In this session, you will first learn about the Midnight Run organization and what it does, and then you will pack toiletry bags and write cards to go inside that will go out on the next Midnight Run.
In this session, students will participate in a hands-on matcha-making experience while also giving back to the school community. Participants will prepare matcha kits and write handwritten appreciation notes that will be distributed to teachers and staff as a form of gratitude and support. Alongside this, students will learn about the cultural background of matcha and engage in simple mindfulness practices focused on slowing down and managing stress.
The primary goal of this session is to serve others through appreciation and meaningful acts of gratitude.

We're starting with a short presentation on the importance of mental health, then we'll vibe out while folding origami to brighten the day for senior citizens at The Osborn. Afterward, you will share your tips about de-stressing, and then we will create a poster to give students a much-needed mood boost. Come hang out, get your craft on, and make a real impact!
Join us for a Breast Cancer Awareness event where you’ll write encouraging cards, fold meaningful origami, create inspiring bracelets, and decorate pink ribbons — all to spread hope and strength to those affected by breast cancer at White Plains Hospital. Be rewarded with tasty treats like pink cupcakes and pink lemonade. Come for the treats, stay to make a difference, and leave knowing your small acts of kindness can brighten someone’s biggest battle.
Bring your friends and turn old plastic bottles into decorations, planters and birdhouses to bring some brightness! They will be donated to Mt. Kisco Childcare, Kol Ami Temple, and the Coachman Shelter.
Learn about the refugee crisis from the Human Rights Club through a short informational slide show and quilt-making activity. Student-made quilts will be donated to the Wrap the World in Quilts organization.
Create heartfelt cards for patients at the Burke Rehabilitation Center. These small gestures make a big difference and encourage those who need it most. After creating your cards, you can paint rocks with your own unique designs and messages. These creations will be proudly displayed around Scarsdale, just like last year’s exhibit outside the public library.
Come participate in a group walkathon to support the organization Feeding Westchester. Students should bring in canned/boxed food for donations, which will be collected on Non Sibi Day.
In this hands-on challenge, students will work in teams to design and build their own water filtration systems using an assortment of materials. Using water collected from the Bronx River, groups will compete to create the most effective filter for removing particles and improving water quality. After testing their designs with pH strips, students will compare results and learn about real-world water purification methods and environmental issues. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams, and all participants will receive informational materials to better understand how filtration impacts clean water access.
