These collages will feature famous inventions created by women, designed to inspire and support our community. The completed collages will be donated to the Scarsdale Public Library to spread positivity beyond our school.

In this session, students will each create their own (or multiple!) small tile(s) using Model Magic, adding their own designs, colors, and details using sculpting tools. All of the individual tiles will then be combined to form a larger mosaic of a fish, which will be displayed at the Scarsdale Public Library. For students seeking an extra challenge, we will also have custom tiles with more detailed designs, featuring seaweed, coral, and more.

Resolving a Deadlock

Up to 4 teams race to build a cup tower, but every cup must be earned. Teams are given conflict scenarios by officers. Submit a unified answer your whole team agrees on, get a cup. First team to finish their tower wins, but only one teammate can end up in 1st place, voted on by the rest based on their contribution. Officers act as mediators, guiding teams toward logical solutions throughout. This challenge builds real skills: resolving conflict fast, knowing when to compromise, and when to push for more.

Along with the City Meals on Wheels program, The Linguistics Club is running a workshop where we'll write cards to isolated senior citizens in NYC in their native languages, many of whom don't have anyone to see regularly. If you know Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Korean, French, German, or Italian--your skills would be greatly appreciated and will be a great comfort to seniors who may rarely communicate in their native languages. English speakers are also more than welcome to come help; we also need letters in English!
